Laptop Movement tracking solution for a pharma consulting office using barcode technology

Background and Context This client is a pharma consulting company in India and they are one of our customer who had implemented the Tareta's barcode based asset management solution. They wanted to extend the utility of the system for movement tracking of mobile assets during IN/OUT process Solution After studying In/Out process for mobile assets, the Tareta team implemented the following solution: 1. Asked the management team to put in place a employee code barcode label behind employee ID cards 2. Place one desktop computer on the security desk 3. Install handheld barcode scanner to computer 4. Install Tareta's Desktop based IT asset tracking software in the computer Business Impact Our solution gave the client the following benefits: 1. Easy traceability of mobile assets that are in and out of the facility 2. Better compliance procedures now in place 3. Removed manual register. Hence, no more queues 4. Security is able to see the photo of the employee appearing on the desktop screen after scanning, instead of seeing Asset/Employee ID numbers
